Note: There are 3 versions of PhotoFiltre on the download page, but you should download the latest version of PhotoFiltre and not PhotoFiltre Studio X.

Important tip! You should make a backup (copy) of the original picture before editing it.

1. Open PhotoFiltre.

2. Click on the “open folder” icon located at the top left.

Or click on File (located at the top left) and then click on Open.

A “Open” window will appear.

3. Go to the location on your PC where the picture is stored.

4. Select the picture.

5. Click on the Open button.

6. Select the part of the picture you want to make blurry.

7. Click on Filter (located in the top menu), move your mouse cursor (pointer) to Soften and then click on Blur more.

Now you will see a small “Blur more” window.

8. At Radius, you can select how much you want to blur the selected part of the picture.

9. Click on the Preview button to view the result.

10. If you're satisfied with the result, then click on the OK button.

11. Click on the “save” icon located at the top left.

Or click on File (located at the top left) and then click on Save or Save as.

1. Open GIMP.

2. Click on File (located at the top left) and then click on Open.

3. Go to the location on your PC where the picture is stored.

4. Select the picture.

5. Click on the Open button.

6. Click on Tools (located in the top menu), move your mouse cursor (pointer) to Selection Tools and then click on Rectangle Select.

7. Select the part of the picture you want to make blurry.

8. Click on Filter (located in the top menu), move your mouse cursor (pointer) to Blur and then click on Gaussian Blur.

Now you will see a small “Gaussian Blur” window.

9. At Size X, you can select how much you want to blur the selected part of the picture.

10. If you're satisfied with the result, then click on the OK button.

11. Click on File (located at the top left) and then click on Export or Export As.

A “Export Image“ window will appear.

12. Select a location on your computer where you want to save the edited picture.

13. Click on the Export button at the bottom right of the window.

A “Export Image as PNG” or “Export Image as JPG” window will appear with a few optional options.

14. Click on the Export button.

How to blur part of a picture using Paint

Microsoft Paint is a simple graphics editor that has been included with all versions of Microsoft Windows.

Important tip! You should make a backup (copy) of the original picture before editing it.

1. Right-click on the picture, move your mouse cursor to Open with and then click on Paint.

2. Click on Select located at the top left.

3. Select the part of the picture you want to make blurry.

4. Right-click on the selected part of the photo, and then click on Resize.

A small “Resize and Skew” window will appear.

5. Select Pixels.

6. Make sure the Maintain aspect ratio option is checked.

7. Reduce the number of pixels considerably (e.g., 51x60 to 11x12) and remember the original width and height.

Pay attention! You only need to reduce the pixels in one option because the aspect ratio is retained. So you need to change the number of pixels only at Horizontal or only at Vertical.

8. Click on the OK button.

9. Right-click on the selected part of the photo, and then click on Resize.

The small “Resize and Skew” window will appear again.

10. Select Pixels.

11. Make sure the Maintain aspect ratio option is unchecked this time.

12. Set the number of pixels back to the original width and height (e.g., 11x12 to 51x60).

13. Click on the OK button.

14. Click on File located at the top left, and then click on Save or Save as.

How to blur part of a picture online using PineTools

1. Open your web browser (e.g., Google Chrome, Firefox, Opera, etc.).

2. Go to https://pinetools.com/censor-photo-blur-pixelate.

3. Under INPUT IMAGE, you click on the Browse or Choose File button.

4. Go to the location on your PC where the picture is stored.

5. Select the picture.

6. Click on the Open button.

7. Select the part of the picture you want to make blurry.

8. Under Options, at Shape, you click on Rectangle.

9. At Method, you click on Blur.

10. At Radius, you can select how much you want to blur the selected part of the picture.

11. Click on the CENSOR! button located at the bottom of the page.

Under IMAGE CENSORED, you can see the result.

12. If you're satisfied with the result, then click on PNG, JPG or BMP.
