How to change where screenshots are saved in Windows 10

This tutorial will show you step by step how to change where screenshots are saved in Windows 10.

By default, your screenshots are saved in the Screenshots folder located in the Pictures folder. But you can easily change this location by following the steps below.

1. Open File Explorer (Windows Explorer).

2. Go to the location on your computer where you want your screenshots to be saved. This can be another folder, hard drive or partition.

3. Create a new folder and name it Screenshots.

4. Open the Pictures folder.

5. Open the Screenshots folder.

Note: If you don't see a “Screenshots” folder, then you probably didn't take a screenshot yet. The folder appears as soon as you take a screenshot. To take a screenshot in Windows 10, you press the [Windows] + [PrintScreen] key on your keyboard. The print screen key can have a different name, such as PrtSc or PrtScr.

6. Right-click in the Screenshots folder > Properties.

A “Screenshots Properties” window will appear.

7. Click on the Location tab.

8. Click on the Move button.

A “Select a Destination” window will appear.

9. Select the newly created Screenshots folder.

10. Click on the Select Folder button.

11. Click on the Apply button in the bottom right corner of the “Screenshots Properties” window.

12. When the “Move Folder” window appears, you click on Yes.

13. Click on the OK button.

The Screenshots folder is now moved to the new location on your PC and all screenshots you take will be saved in this new location.
