How to disable device security on a Samsung Galaxy (Android 7 and 8)
This tutorial will show you step by step how to disable the built-in device security on a Samsung Galaxy phone with Android 7 and 8.
This tutorial works for all Samsung Galaxy phones with Android 7 (Nougat) and Android 8 (Oreo), such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, S6, S6 Edge, S7, S7 Edge, S8, S8 Edge, S9, S9+, Note 9, J7 Pro, and all other types.

1. Open Settings.
2. Tap on Apps.
3. Tap on the 3-dots menu icon located at the top right.
4. Tap on Show system apps.
5. Scroll down to Device security.
6. Tap on Device security.
7. Tap on Storage.
8. Tap on CLEAR DATA.
9. Tap on DELETE.
If you now open “Settings” > “Device maintenance” > “Device security” you will see that “Device security” is disabled (deactivated).
